We held a clean-up/prep day at the pool this afternoon, this included a meet & greet with many of the lifeguards. I think you all will be very pleased to see many returning guards, plus some new faces. They are all very enthusiastic and ready for the season to begin.

We are happy to announce we have hired 50 certified lifeguards and 8 pool managers this year. We hold these guards to high standards and expect their best daily. If at any time you feel like a lifeguard is not performing their duties, please contact Natalie Cook IN WRITING at blossomwoodpoolvp@gmail.com

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

1. Pool Rules are clearly listed on Pool Signage and in your membership contract. Your children will be expected to follow the pool rules at all times or be given consequences. Lifeguards have been instructed to 1) verbally warn children, 2) instruct children to sit out of the pool, or if the children are independently swimming with no parent, 3) a phone call will be made to pick up children. Lifeguarding is a serious job, and in order to keep our members safe, we expect our lifeguards to be respected by all pool members and their children.

2. Children 8 years old and older can visit the pool without a parent if they pass an independent swimmer test, and sign required paperwork. If at any time, if the independent swimmer becomes a behavior issue, his/her independent swimmer status can be revoked. Please see one of the managers to take the independent swimmer test.

3. Lifeguards are NOT babysitters. They are highly qualified young men and women who are being held to high expectations by the pool staff and membership. Please do not ask lifeguards to be in charge your children at the pool during their shift.

4. Snack Bar Punch Cards can be purchased for $10 (redeemable for ten snacks) from MemberSplash and in person at the pool. Punch Cards are a great way to purchase snacks and drinks without the hassle of keeping up with cash. The snack bar will offer the usual ice cream, chips and drinks, and if there is interest, bagged ice, Chick-fil-A sandwiches and pizza!

We are looking forward to a great swim season!

Thank you,

Blossomwood Pool Board
